Sonia’s choices to create a White Garden are featured on page 69 in Gardening from a Hammock. While beautiful in the day, a white garden comes to life at night, especially under a full moon. It takes a lot of discipline to create a white garden, but Sonia has the knowledge and expertise to do that. She also has figured out how to avoid weeds — ” I have so many plants, bulbs and perennials that there is no room for weeds.”

Sonia's Garden white garden looks wonderful in the daytime, but takes on a magical glow under the moonlight.

Sonia Leslie advises that before planting, decide on your favourite place to sit, and build around that area.
Master Gardener Sonia Leslie is involved in many aspects of the Toronto Botanical Garden and is a former member of its Board of Directors.
